I chose to redesign the Crux Coffee Maker, which featured unnecessary parts, design flaws, and unsustainable materials
Environmental Impact cut in half
After a close documentation and analysis of the original products parts, materials, and manufacturing processes, I designed the Simple Drip to cut down on the amount of parts used while incorporating low-impact materials and manufacturing processes
Minimal Design
Each part, material, manufacturing process, was carefully considered and designed to reduce environmental impact
Sustainable Materials
The combination of cork, glass, and recycled aluminum create for a minimal and natural aesthetic that is also recyclable
Ease of Use
Wide openings on water tank and carafe allow for easy washing
Detachable Parts
Parts are removable from base for easy cleaning, storage, and exchange.
Optimum Flavor
Holes in water pipe disperse water evenly over coffee grounds
Stainless steel mesh layered over perforated aluminum optimizes flavor and minimizes environmental impact
